Race against time

Sweater|Forever 21, Pants|H&M, Shoes|Urban Outfitters

As always, it's a race against time to take pictures! With daylight savings, it's even more of a challenge. Since it's fall and winter is slowly coming up, I'm sure we'll all begin to hear the word "chunky" a lot. Chunky sweaters, chunky scarves, chunky knits... etc... Well, I love them all! I got this sweater at Forever 21 and it was such a great find for only 20 dollars! Since the sweater is so (here comes the word)... chunky, you gotta balance out the outfit with something more fitted at the bottom. I chose cropped pants because I like how they look with boots. I've been rolling up my jeans to show off the ankles, as well.

If you can't already tell from the leaves on the ground, fall is in full effect! I hope it rains soon because my car needs a serious washing!

Wall Garden

Top&Pants|Brandy Melville, Shoes|Converse, Watch|Marc Jacobs

How comfortable do I look?! These pants are pretty awesome. They're semi-baggy but the length and cut still give it some style. I like the way the pants show a peek of the ankles. It gives the pants more versatility because you can wear different types of shoes and the fabric won't hide or cover up anything. I definitely plan on wearing these for more than just my casual days.

I had to take advantage of a photo opportunity while hanging out at the newly renovated Valley Fair food court terrace. They added these plants along the walls which were a perfect back drop for an outfit of the day. The lighting was on point since the sun was slowly approaching the horizon before setting.

By the way, that's a Thai tea from Cafe Central. And that's all I will say about it.

Above average

Top|Brandy Melville, Pants|Zara, Shoes|H&M, Bag|Urban Outfitters

Zara is always on top of their game! Trending this season are "stylish sweats". The comfort of sweats but refined with specific cuts and details that make it way more than just your average "lounge around" sweats. These are more fitted yet still loose enough to keep them from becoming leggings. The material is thin and is heathered to give a more casual look. Along with an elastic waistband and zipper pocket detail, I'd totally wear it casual like this or I can even dress it up! Maybe that'll come in a future post.

Took a drive to SF and did some major damage in Zara. As I said, they are always on point. On of my favorite purchases is a plaid blazer I got on sale for $35 from $80! But then again, I love everything I got from Zara. It seems I can't write a post without mentioning the weather but I have to say it: the weather was perfect! For being the first day of November, SF was a perfect 72 degrees. The skies were blue and although it was a bit windy, it never got cold. I was actually kind warm walking around in this outfit.

It feels nice to be able to start posting again but I'm hoping to be more consistent in the future. Stay tuned!

Point of view

1st outfit: Top|Urban Outfitters, Jeans|Old Navy, Shoes|Converse
2nd outfit: Top|American Apparel, Shorts|Forever 21, Tights|Nordstrom Rack, Shoes|H&M

Ultimate outfit selfie shot. If you want to capture your entire outfit yourself, this is probably the best angle to do it. Not the most ideal pictures but I wanted to post and update the blog. Still wearing those maroon boots I mentioned in the last post. And I'm still stuck on Ariana Grande's album! It's so addicting...

Anyway! The biggest change recently might have to be my HAIR! I chopped off about 5 to 6 inches! You can reference from previous blog posts how long my hair was and how it may look now. I'm still waiting to post a full outfit with my new hair. It's something I've been thinking about for a couple of months now. Hair is no joke. I, like many girls, felt like my hair was a safety net. Something I relied on as part of my entire look and style. I really wanted to challenge myself and be brave so I decided one day, "Okay, just go to your hair stylist and do it!" I drove there after work, totally mentally prepared, only to find that the store was closed until the following week. I had such a.... -____-.... moment. I realized I couldn't wait so I just had my sister do it for me in our bathroom. My sister is by no means a hair stylist or anything. She just goes on instincts and does what she has seen before but I trust her with anything. First, she did a blunt cut but added just a bit of layers so it looks more natural. I'm loving it and thought I would regret it the next day but I actually want to go shorter! We'll see.... One cut at a time.

Work is about to slow down a little bit so hopefully, I'll be posting some outfits, details and all, soon! Hang in there!

Pink Champagne

1st outfit: Dress|Brandy Melville, Denim Jacket|Thrifted (GAP, boys size 10), Bag|Urban Outfitters, Shoes|H&M
2nd outfit: Jacket|Brandy Melville, Shorts&Shoes|H&M

"Everyday I'm grindin', don't even get a weekend"

Right when I heard those words from Ariana Grande's "Pink Champagne", I instantly liked the song. Never have I related more to a song's lyrics than when I heard those words. It's been a busy couple of weeks, which explains the lack of outfit posts. Since the days are getting shorter, you really gotta race the sun for some good lighting but sometimes, you lose. Instead, I'm left with taking pictures in the most random places like inside a supermarket or under a bright street lamplight. Quick updates on some recent favorites: Ariana Grande's album and these maroon boots from H&M.

Ariana's entire album is so cohesive that if you like one song, you'll like them all. I have "Honeymoon Avenue" on repeat and I also love "You'll Never Know". I can continue with the list of my favorite songs but I'll basically give you the entire album. Okay, one more. "Better Left Unsaid". Okay. That's it. Go listen for yourself! As far as these boots, maroon/burgundy,ox blood etc.etc. is definitely an essential fall/winter color. You can't tell but my nails are a deep red color, as well. The maroon is just a nice change from the typical black or brown boots. Even though the shoes are a shade of red, I feel like I can treat them like a neutral and wear them with a lot of different outfits!

I'll be sure to be back soon! But if you wanna stay updated more frequently or quicker, check out my Instagram

Primary prep

Button up|A&F, Sweater&Shoes|Forever 21, Pants|Holliser, Bag|Zara

This outfit came together so quickly as I was rushing out the door. I don't know if you can tell but this is my hair in it's natural state. Besides combing out a few knots at the ends, I didn't have time to do anything to it. Luckily, my hair had some volume from drying overnight. I wanted to wear a sweater but felt like I needed to dress it up for work so I layered it over a sleeveless button up. The collar made this cropped sweater a little more office friendly, don't you think? Since I had mustard and navy, I chose the maroon pants to complete the primary colors. They're all such great color tones for fall! Finishing it off with a pair of taupe booties really completed the outfit. I love the look of layering but sometimes it can be a bit constricting and stuffy. That's why I like using a sleeveless button up to layer with because you get to wear a put together look without sacrificing any comfort! And if you're going to be at work for 8 hours during the day, you NEED to be comfortable.

Does anyone else here have a money tree in/near their home?

Sunday Funday

Dress|Brandy Melville, Denim Jacket|Thrifted (GAP, Boys size 10) Bag|Zara, Shoes|Forever 21

I know "Sunday Funday" may seem like an average thing but it's rare and few for me. Today was the second day I've had off in over a month! I'm definitely not complaining though because I love everything I'm doing and the people I work with. I just appreciate these days off more. My boyfriend just got off of a graveyard shift and decided to go out with me an hour after arriving home. He didn't want to waste my day off. Isn't that he the best?! Oh, and he is usually the one taking all my photos. His patience and support really helped me get going and stay consistent with my blog. He knows how much it means to me and I hope you guys are enjoying it so far!
